Nightlife and Entertainment

In recent years the extent and variety of Beijing’s nightlife and entertainment options has blossomed with the bars, restaurants and traditional shows now supplemented by a new wave of trendy bars, clubs, eateries and entertainment options. There are two major entertainment districts in Beijing, but also many other venues scattered through the city.

Some of the well-known bars in the original North area are: Poachers, Boys and Girls, Milan Club and Lan Gui Fang. The West area by the Workers’ Stadium has restaurants, bars and clubs including: Vics, Mix, Lava Lounge, Alfa and the Outback Steakhouse. The Central area is home to one of Beijing’s largest and most popular discos: Rock and Roll (Gun Shi) which plays techno and house music, and is tucked away behind the Comfort Inn. The Den is a smaller disco and bar near the City Hotel, and Power House is known for its live bands. Success offers Chinese floor shows.

The Sanlitun Entertainment District, popular with expats, tourists and affluent Chinese, is a large area north of the Workers’ Stadium with a wide variety of bars, clubs and other entertainment. The closest subway station is Dong Si Shi Tiao station 12 minutes walk away.
